I work for Protean Instrument Corporation engineering new low-background alpha-beta detectors. Protean is a small company but I am a generalist so I fill multiple roles although I mostly work as a software developer. My day to day involves a mixture of work with Angular, C#, and Postgres when operating as a software developer; KiCad, PlatformIO, and a whole bunch of bench instrumentation when operating as an electrical engineer; and Inventor and Fusion 360 and classic shop tools when operating as a mechanical engineer.
